EMERGENCY LIGHTS

Reliable emergency lighting will provide safe evacuation routes and preventing panic in potentially hazardous situations.
A properly maintained emergency lighting system ensures occupants can safely evacuate a building during a power failure or other emergency situation.

This is a legal requirement under the Environmental Planning & Assessment Regulation 2021 (EP&A Reg) and must be tested in accordance with the Australian Standards (AS 1851-2012 & AS 2293.2-2019).

MEETING THE HIGHEST STANDARDS OF SAFETY

  • A controlled test that simulates a mains power failure to confirm the system provides at least 90 minutes of emergency illumination — the minimum required by AS 2293.1-2018, Clause 2.3.2.

We provide a written report of deficiencies and recommend repairs or replacements to restore compliance. Failures must be rectified immediately, as a defective system  compromises life safety and AFSS certification (EP&A Reg Clauses 183–187).
